PJM CEO’s visit at the Nice Grid showroom
Nice, August 20th, 2015
On August 20th, 2015, PJM Interconnection’s CEO, Andy Scott, was welcomed at the showroom of NICE GRID, the GRID4EU French Demo, by Rémy Garaude Verdier and Thomas Drizard from ERDF as well as by Laurent Schmitt, Armand Pineda and Nils Siebert from Alstom Grid.
The visit started with a general introduction of the NICE GRID demonstrator, before a field visit to the residential consumers and the storage facilities. The afternoon was dedicated to the presentation of GRID4EU project as well as exchanges about the role of grid operators, storage and smart grids.
Throughout the day, emphasis was placed on the NEM (Network Energy Manager) and the storage facilities, that particularly interested PJM’s CEO.
As an actor of the electricity transmission system, the motivation of the PJM Interconnection’s visit was to discover DSO’s (Distribution System Operator) initiatives in the Smart Grids field, as NICE GRID for instance.
